A spirited carving of one of Canada’s most enduring emblems, this seated beaver was handcrafted in Quebec during the fourth quarter of the 20th century. Executed in pine and retaining its original painted surface, the figure is rendered with charming simplicity, its raised front paws and contrasting black feet and tail lending the piece both personality and graphic presence.
Rooted in the tradition of Quebec folk art, the carving balances whimsy with sculptural form, making it a distinctive decorative object with unmistakable Canadiana character.
Presented in very good condition.
